2016 is a milestone for the team at Temple Knight, as it’s our 30th birthday!
When Richard Chapman founded Temple Knight back in 1986 the fax was king, and our main business focus was in supplying and repairing fax machines. Of course as with all things, times change and our focus moved on. We started repairing and supplying photocopiers, which then evolved to include printers and scanners.
In 2011 Simon Chapman took over as the Manager Director and brought with him a new energy and enthusiasm to take the company in a new direction. In addition to supplying and maintaining equipment, Simon has introduced bespoke print management solutions.
The modern Temple Knight still focuses on repairs and sales of equipment, but also now specialises in tailored print management and software solutions, to all sizes of companies who are looking to manage their printing costs and reduce their overall spend. This gives us the best of both world as we have the ability to look after our customer’s existing equipment, and then help them upgrade as their business needs change. This also allows us to introduce print management solutions with clever software that will allow our customer to make a saving on their printing costs.
For a little taste on how the technology has changed, check out the pictures below.
The first (left) is the 1986 HP QuietJet Printer, which got its name from its key benefit (quiet printing). In its day this was a top of the range printer.
The second (right) picture is the HP Colour LaserJet Pro M477FDN MFP which was launched in late 2015. This modern machine can colour print, photocopy, fax and even scan to PC. The MFP (Multifunction Printer) sometime known as the MFD (Multifunction Device) literally combines four functions together for user convenience, user cost saving and space saving. So much has changed in the last 30 years, but our customer focus and ability to move with the times remains the same. Here’s to the next 30 Years!
