Baz Abdul is the third new recruit in the team at Temple Knight. He joins Paul’s sales team as Business Development Manager.
Baz comes from a background working in the industry for the past 15 years, starting his career being trained at the Xerox Academy. He’s worked for both dealers and manufacturers.
We asked Baz a few questions to get to know him.
Tell us a bit about your career
I started my career over 15 years ago at the Xerox academy. I was trained in Xerox sales and after 3 months became sales approved. I then went on to work for a Xerox concessionaire for 7 years, before working for other dealers.
I’ve sold pretty much every manufacturer of copier, including Xerox, Canon, Ricoh, Toshiba, Sharp, UTAX, Kyocera, HP.
Most recently, I worked for a manufacturer.
What does your new role involve?
I’ll be working in Paul’s team as a Business Development Manager, alongside Steven.
I’m looking to take the business to the next level. Getting in touch with existing clients and updating them with new products and solutions, and helping them to improve their processes.
I’ll also be networking at print and business start-up trade shows, and connecting with IT Managers to bring them up to speed with new (digital) technologies in the market.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
Expanding the business and bringing in sales! I’m really pleased to be part of the new phase of Temple Knight, and working with Simon and the team.
I’m looking forward to being part of a team, and using my knowledge in the industry to take it to where it wants to be.
Most importantly, helping our customers with Temple Knight’s innovative solutions, combined with the latest technology to help increase efficiencies.
What attracted you to Temple Knight?
I like the personal touch with Temple Knight. I like to get to know and understand my client’s company, and build trust with them. Something that Simon and the team have been doing for many years.
Temple Knight has a great reputation in the industry, and I like their family values and loyalty to their customers.
Simon and Richard are also open to new ideas and interested in new products, so I’m excited to be able to work with them.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I’m a massive boxing fan. I love watching the sport and going to boxing events around the country. I’m often found in the gym too.
I have a little daughter who’s 8 and I love spending time with her on the weekends. I enjoy taking her on a trip somewhere new, and going for walks on the beach and countryside with her and my partner.
I’m also a bit of a tech geek! I like to keep up to speed with the latest technology trends and read a lot of relevant press. It’s important to know what’s going on in the industry to stay informed and engage with IT Managers and business prospects.
